Our Grounds
Attractive, well-maintained grounds at the camps blend with aspen groves, native wildflowers and magnificent mountain views to create a unique natural setting. At Big Spring, five boys and a counselor live in a permanent platform tent or in one of our yurts. Modern shower houses are located nearby.
The Big Spring Lodge is a historic log building which houses the kitchen and dining hall. The camps are well-known for their good food which includes fresh bread and delicious desserts homemade in the camps’ bakery.
Facilities
Other Big Spring facilities include a theater/program center, a crafts building, tennis courts, a heated swimming pool with a great water slide and fields for sports of all types. The barn, stables and riding arena provide headquarters for the horseback riding program. The health center is staffed by registered nurses who work closely with doctors in Woodland Park and Colorado Springs to provide excellent medical attention.
