April Parent Update #1

Spring is here! The pasque flowers are blooming, the sun is shining and the countdown to campis ON! We want to thank all of you who have been submitting forms over the last month–we know there are a lot of them!

We are continuing to prepare for summer and are still waiting to learn more about the State of Colorado guidelines for residential camps. We know there will be additional forms to fill out, and–just today–we published an updated Camper Profile form and our Additional Options form. All forms are due by May 1st, 2021, so we encourage you to login and begin to fill out the forms in the Forms Dashboard that are available now. (*If your camper’s physical is scheduled after May 1st, please email cheryl@sanbornwesterncamps.com and let her know when it is scheduled).

The Camper Profile provides camp staff and your camper’s counselors with important information about your child. We added a few questions regarding your family’s and your child’s experience with the pandemic so we can help the counselors better meet your camper/s where they are socially, mentally and emotionally when they arrive at camp.

The Additional Options formgives you the opportunity to select rental items (sleeping bags, cowboy boots, backpacking backpacks, etc.), fund your camper’s Camp Store account (which includes snacks/treats, camp logo gear and camping items like waterbottles) and–if required–reserve ground transportation to/from the regional airports and pre-pay for shipped luggage.

This year, we are happy to announce we are planning to try out a new app called Campanion from our database company, Campminder. Here are a few of the features that will be available this summer:

  • You can upload a photo of your camper and the “Face Finder” tool will automatically pull images of your camper into your stream on the app.
  • You can also use the app to easily browse and download (for free!) all uploaded photos from camp
  • You can receive updates and reminders from camp on your phone
  • You can upload paper forms via your phone using the Forms upload feature

You will also still be able to access all of the summer photos from your Camp InTouch account, too. Think of this app as a special Sanborn Instagram feed of your camper’s smiling face and fun, important updates from camp.

This optional app is subscription based, and costs $12. If you are interested in purchasing access to this app, please select the Campanion Subscription on the Additional Options form.

If you have questions regarding forms, please check out our Getting Ready Guide for 2021. We will continue to reach out this month as we have more information to share about the summer–so make sure we are on your “safe sender” email list.

Thank you, again, for all of the forms we have already received and we hope you have a wonderful weekend!
