At High Trails, you will choose among these and many more all-day and overnight adventures.
After hiking and camping at some of the 30 developed campsites on Sanborn property, you will be prepared to head into the high country for a 2-5 day adventure in Colorado’s most pristine wilderness. You might backpack with friends and expert leaders along the Colorado Trail, pitch your tent in high alpine meadows at the base of Mt. Sherman or Mt. Yale, celebrate on the top of a Fourteener, or slide down summer snowfields.
From climbing 14,000 foot peaks to rock climbing with ropes, the richness and depth of the mountaineering program at High Trails challenge both novice and experienced hikers, backpackers, and climbers.
You’ll practice “environmentally friendly” Leave No Trace camping skills, learn mountain safety and gain confidence in your ability to live within the natural world. Sanborn Western Camps/Colorado Outdoor Education Center operates many trips under special use permit from the USDA Forest Service, Pike & San Isabel National Forests.
