Parent Update #6

Dear Camp Families–

Happy Tuesday! We are so excited for our first campers to arrive next weekend! We wanted to reach out with a few pre-arrival updates and some information that will help make Opening Day and the summer fun for everyone.

If your camper is not fully vaccinated against COVID and/or the second vaccine dose occurred after May 30th, you must arrive with the printed negative results of a PCR COVID-19 test administered between 6/8/21 and 6/12/21. Your camper will not be admitted into camp without this essential screening test.

Upon arrival, your unvaccinated or undervaccinated camper will be tested again for COVID-19 as part of our initial health screen.

Additional PCR testing for unvaccinated or undervaccinated campers will occur during the first two weeks of camp as part of our COVID Plan.

If your camper IS fully vaccinated against COVID (second vaccine dose occurred BEFORE May 30th) or your camper is bringing their printed results of a POSITIVE COVID test within ninety days of July 13th, your camper WILL NOT be tested for COVID-19 as part of our initial health screen.

Please review this chart for more details regarding vaccination status and its impact on testing, quarantine and cohorts.

Opening Day Arrival Times and Health Screening If you are driving to camp, you should have received an email with your scheduled arrival time on May 28th. If you did not receive that email, please email cheryl@sanbornwesterncamps.com to be scheduled.

Camper drop off will occur at The Nature Place, located on the Sanborn Western Camps/Colorado Outdoor Education Center campus. Parents will not be allowed to enter the main camp areas this summer. If our community health status allows, camper pick up at the end of each camp session will be at the individual campers’ living units. For more information on Opening Day, please watch our Opening Day Overview video.
