Instructor, where I teach kids science classes, outdoor living skills, and lots of games! I spend a lot of time traveling around the U.S. camping and exploring. My favorite trip was to Honduras and Belie where I studied fish migration. I love animals! But my ultimate dream is to travel as a Remote EMT and help people all over the world! In my down time, you can usually find me writing stories, making little skits, playing outside, or crafting with my friends. I love art and grew up making art and working in a theatre! This makes me excited to come to Sanborn and create new experiences and stories with the campers. I can’t wait to play lots of games outside!

Hi everybody! My name is Inez and I am SO excited for this summer at High Trails. This summer will be my ELEVENTH (!) year at Sanborn — I was a camper for nine years and this will be my second year on staff — safe to say I’m a true believer in what we do here. I just graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine with degrees in Politics and Sociology, and a concentration in Knowledge, Action, and the Public Good (a mouthful). I am so excited to be back in Florissant and am unbelievably ready for mountains, backcountry cooking, marshmallow baseball, and dance parties. My top three favorite things of all time are: 1) karaoke 2) ice cream and 3) long conversations, but camp is right up there. It’s not an understatement to say that Sanborn changed my life — both as a person and as a professional — so much so that I will be continuing my passion for outdoor education come fall as an English literature teaching fellow at Chewonki Maine Coast Semester, a semester school in Wiscasset, Maine. But for now, I am so stoked to climb mountains, chant in the lodge, and meet all of you this summer!

I am so stoked to be back as a ridge leader this year.I will be graduating from the University of Texas at Austin finishing up my degree in elementary education right before camp. When I am not being super excited about social studies in the classroom, I love biking, climbing, and reading! I absolutely can’t wait to spend the summer outside with really awesome campers and staff!!

Kelty Carson (Juniors)

Howdy there! My name is Kelty, and I am from Austin, TX. I was a High Trails camper for three AWESOME summers from 2006-2008!! Later, I attended the College of Charleston in South Carolina. In 2018, I received my degree in International Studies focusing on Latin America and the Caribbean, with double minors in Biology and Religious Studies. These days, I work in Austin as a tour guide leading guests around my city and into the Texas Hill Country, speaking on street art, food, history, and ecology. Some important things to know about me: I have a deep respect for silly faces, I’m in love with shooting stars, and I have an amazing dog named Tally Lou who JUMPS in her sleep most nights (my fur-covered shooting star). This summer, I can’t wait to get to know YOU, lovely campers, while we create cool art projects, scramble over rocks and up mountains, and sing by the campfire!

Blair Sisk (Elementary)

My name is Blair Sisk! I spent seven summers here as a camper, and this will be my fourth summer on staff. I’ve followed my love for the outdoors by working as a fly-fishing guide, ski instructor, and tree climber. I thrive on hard work and adventure in the wilderness. In my free time, you’ll probably find me wood carving, bouldering, or playing guitar and singing :) This summer at High Trails, I can’t wait to be everyones friend, belt out camp songs, dance like nobody’s watching, and cook over a campfire! See you soon for an unforgettable summer!

Maya Horner (High School)

Hey there! I’m Maya, born and raised in Catalina, Arizona, and a recent grad with a B.S. in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. I’m passionate about water conservation, environmental justice, working with youth, and building resilient communities - something I’ve been lucky to put into practice as a coordinator at a nonprofit for the past year. My first summer at Sanborn was in 2021, and I’m beyond excited to return as a Ridge Leader. After a few years in Flagstaff, I’m back in Tucson, soaking up the desert and doing all the things I love like mountain biking, trail running, drumming, embroidering, and, of course, geeking out over reptiles. This summer, I’m excited to be off my phone and make friends I haven’t even met yet.

Coordinators

Jenny Rohrer (Kitchen Coordinator)

Hi! My name is Jenny. I moved out to Colorado about a year ago to work my first season at Sanborn as a counselor. I fell in love with camp and Colorado, I plan to stick around the state for a while. With a degree in an outdoor field, I find so much joy spending time in nature. A few of my hobbies include hiking, fishing, and watching the worst movies possible on Netflix. My favorite thing about camp is getting to see campers accomplish hard things and build each other up while doing so. I’m looking forward to my second season with Sanborn!

Olivia Medrano (Photographer)

Hello! My name is Olivia Medrano. This is my second summer at camp and I am so excited to be back and capture all of the fun memories. I graduated last year from the University of Kansas with degrees in Film and Marketing and now I work in Radio/TV Broadcasting in my hometown of Topeka, KS. In my free time, I keep up with the latest movie releases and kite when the weather is nice. This summer I am so excited to work with campers in the darkroom and spread the joy of photography!

Izzi Dalsing (Outcamp)

Hi I’m Izzi, and I’m the outcamp coordinator this summer! I’m originally from Minneapolis, but have been working in California doing outdoor education. This is my first year at High Trails, but I’ve been working at camps for the past six summers. I love hiking, canoeing, and all things outdoors, and am super excited to experience all of the activities and beauty High Trails has to offer!

Syd Parizek (Arts and Crafts)

Hello friends! My name is Syd and I am a creative individual from a cattle farm in Iowa - taking time to explore by doing seasonal work full-time. After spending a magical winter building an Ice Castle in Colorado, I’m excited to enjoy my first season at camp under the warm sun. My favorite things to do are go for long walks, make art, and visit coffee shops (my order: iced maple latte with oat milk). I am looking forward to see all the amazing crafts our campers create at the art barn this summer!

Wranglers

Danielle Williams

Hello! My name is Danielle Williams, and I have deep roots in the Show-Me State. As a 25-year-old from Moscow Mills, Missouri my love for adventure drove me to continue my education in the Panhandle of Texas, where I earned a degree in Agriculture Media & Communications in 2022. Being from a family involved in the western way of life, I found my niche in the rodeo and rodeo queening industries. From my personal pageant experience I created a platform, Past the Sash, for all titleholders to be celebrated for their unique skills and how those skills can be utilized in the professional world. Past the Sash features queens but, more importantly, women beyond the title. I use my expertise from 15 years in the industry to continue to close the gap in the industry. I am now living my platform by continuing to stay involved as the pageant coordinator for the Troy Rodeo Queen Pageant and clinician. I have translated the skills I learned from competing in pageants to my career. My goal is to be a light for other young women to follow in my footsteps as they find their passion in the western industry. I continue to follow my love for adventure by charging headfirst into new endeavors.

Britt Walker

My name is Britt and I am outgoing, adventurous and love to bring joy and laughter to whatever it is I am doing. I love being outdoors, keeping fit and listening to country music. I am excited to bring elements our Aussie way of life and kick it in the sticks with all my newfound mates in Colorado!

Katelyn Faubel

Hi Everyone! My name’s Katelyn Faubel and I am so excited to be back at Sanborn this summer as one of the High Trails Wranglers! I’ve worked at Sanborn twice in the past, as both a riding counselor and wrangler, and I loved it. I graduated from Syracuse University in 2018 with a bachelor’s in newspaper and online journalism and international relations. Since then, I’ve been living and working for the federal government in Washington, D.C. A couple of fun facts about me: I grew up in Las Vegas, NV, I studied abroad in the Middle East, and I’m absolutely obsessed with the cookies at camp. I am so excited to share my love of horses with all the campers this summer and go on our long trips!

High Trails Nurses

Cecelia Gedrose

Hi there! My name is Cece and I am SO excited to be a Camp Nurse for my first year at Sanborn, and also my first summer camp EVER! I graduated from Boise State University in 2023 with my BSN degree. After 22 lovely years of living in Idaho, I went to chase the sunshine and found myself in Charleston, SC working as a nurse for the last two years. While I’ve loved getting to live on the beach, I’ve been missing the beauty and accessibility to the wilderness the northwest offers. I am so excited to soak in all the fun outdoors this summer, and meet the most spectacular campers I could imagine!

Sydney Wilson

My name is Sydney Wilson and I am a graduate nurse practitioner student at UT. I graduated from Texas A&M in 2021. I have worked at a few summer camps in the past, and am super excited to get to serve on staff this summer as one of the nurses!
