September Update

It is hard to believe that the Aspen trees are beginning to lighten and whole groves are getting more and more golden leaves with each passing day. And, with the changing of the seasons, we are going to make a change this fall, too!

We are trying something new this year: a (mostly) fall focused 2026 Sanborn Road Show. We will be heading to Northwest Arkansas and Tulsa in early October (10/6=Tulsa, 10/7=Bentonville, 10/8=Fayetteville) and then Chicago (10/21), St. Louis (10/22) and Kansas City (10/24). Our Denver (11/5) and Louisville, CO (11/6) shows will be the first week of November and then we will have a series of Texas shows in January (dates TBD).

These shows are an opportunity for current and prospective campers, their families, staff and alums to come together to meet some of the camp leadership and to learn more about a Sanborn Summer. Whether you are a brand new camper or a 6 year camper or you haven’t been a camper for 25 years–we love having everyone join us for this hour long presentation and reconnect. We will be updating the website over the next few weeks as we finalize details. If you aren’t in any of those locations…fear not! We will also host a number of virtual Road Shows in January, too.

In addition to the Road Show news, we wanted to let our camp families and Big Spring campers know that Will Coleman has officially transitioned from his Big Spring Associate Director role into the Big Spring Director role. As a former camper and long-time staff member, he is looking forward to bringing consistency and longevity to the Director position at Big Spring and is also looking forward to a lot more Junior river trips and a few more mountain climbs next summer. Congratulations, Will!

We hope everyone’s school year is off to a good start–we are hosting school groups with our High Trails Outdoor Education Center program now–and it makes us miss all of the summer campers even more.

Enjoy the fall and we hope to see you at one of our fall or winter in-person Road Shows or on one of our online Zoom events!
